1 January 2012 Kids Pitstop in The Dome

18 December 2011 And the winner is
AmsterDAM (FBI HQ)- First of all, thanks to all for entering your bike in this Facebook edition of the COTY 2011 and to those who took the time to take a look at the bikes and vote. Special thanks to John Brain for the comments written about the bikes.          And now for the big moment....the winner of the Facebook COTY edition 2011 is Steffen Bartels, Germany. Winner at the COTY in Amsterdam earlier this year and now adding an extra crown to the work. Karbar is truly the 2011 bike of the year. Steffen Bartels scored 6.18% of the points. Staying just ahead of the runner up Ted Florez from the USA (CA) with El Rey who gathered 5.96% of the points. Chuck Bradford also from the USA (CA) with My Basman scoring 5.45% of all points takes 3rd place. The Top 5 is completed with the Minx trike by Nick and his Metal and Ink crew from Spain and Cedric, France and his Dyketracker, both scoring 5.16% of the points.  "This machine is truly one of a kind." (JB) "“El Rey” is one of the best examples of progressive bike design that I have seen in a quite a while, and I can say that without hesitation." (JB) "Quality components, gearing and a -take no prisoners- attitude in demanding the best, makes this bike one of the top contenders of 2011." (JB)  "I think most people would agree that if we looked for the best in what 3 wheeled design had to offer, then “Minx” would gratify the desire." (JB) "Dyketracker, hints at future trends and possibilities. Aspects of appearance and function combine to make a beautiful and positive statement. Enjoy its message, and view it as a change in attitude – it is a stepping stone to greater possibilities." (JB) Merry Choppin and Happy Cruisin
18 December 2011 021-Karbar-Steffen Bartels

15 December 2011 026-Minx-Nick
Nick (Spain)- "In the kustom bike world “trikes” are still somewhat of a wild card, and when it comes to styling on 3-wheelers there is still a lot of unexplored territory to try out, and this fosters a sense of adventure for some builders.  This bike, the “Minx” is a highly successful investigation into a rare avenue of design; not only that, it displays a very high level of craftsmanship in its execution." Cedric Lasseur (France)- "Dyketracker, hints at future trends and possibilities. Aspects of appearance and function combine to make a beautiful and positive statement. This machine seeks answers about what the future of biking is going to be.  Enjoy its message, and view it as a change in attitude – it is a stepping stone to greater possibilities." John Brian
13 December 2011 Customaxxx Bicycle
Singapore (Derrick Soon)- Customaxxx is the brain child of my buddy, BS Lim. He had conjured up this most unconventional way to build a bicycle from sheet metal. To be frank, I had many doubts initially and then I saw the actual bike, that’s when I know we have something really special. The year was 2009. The next 2 years were spent refining the design and getting it ready for the market.      When we finally rolled the production units off the factory, it was really well worth all the effort. Every Customaxxx Roar is painstakingly fabricated and put together. Every design on this bike serves a function and does so in style. We started with the laser cut 6061T6 Aluminum frame featuring the unique rigid swing arms. While at it, we developed the Ultra Beefy Fork with integrated dropouts that befit the frame. The Stem and Bottom Bracket Housing are bespoke items, all CNC machined from 6061 Aluminum and Chromed to a mirror finish. To cap it all off, we equipped this beauty with a pair of juicy hydraulic brakes, genuine Nappa Leather Dresser, and 24”X 100mm wheels with Sturmey Archer 3-Speed hubs.            We agreed on day one that it has to be an ultimate cruiser straight out of the box, and yet offers unlimited opportunities for you to personalize it further. The Customaxxx Roar is a limited edition production with only 100 units made available world wide.

23 November 2011 “To be able to use “Kustom Love” for charity purposes, that would be something...”
Lelystad (Wazzup)- As another edition of Serious Request is starting to warm up, I was playing with this idea. Thinking about what could be a good way to collect some money, for the goal that 3fm Radio and the Red Cross have set this year. This is what I came up with.      Outsiders, people who are not familiar with custom bicycles, useally respond very positive when seeing a custom build or cruiser. And if you let them, they will ask you if they can sit on it, perhaps take it for a short drive...Well now is their chance! On the last day of the Serious Request week, you can pick a custom you like, sit on it and have your picture taken for a little donation (and a nice memorie of that day). -Sane-       Event info: Serious Request 2011 De Beestenmarkt Leiden, The Netherlands Start: at noon (12:00 hrs)   Keytown Cruisers are supporting this event, because Leiden is their hometown and they also believe this a great way to collect some money! Since Saturday is the last day, the event will end with the announcement of the total that is donated all week. After that there will be a great show with various artists performing, so it will be a good time! We hope to see a lot of cruisers out there!!!       Official Serious Request 2011 Site http://www.kominactie.nl/holland_united_cruisers_goes_3fm_serious_request_the_photoshoot Facebook Event http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=196720590407705
