28 August 2010 - New York (Wazzup)- When Nic announced his 2010 event at the FBI in 2007 just a few believed it actually would happen. So when last spring the final dates were set it was time to get ready for the first miles of a Basman on Broadway. The NY 2010 weekend was opened with a meet and greet at Local Cycles on Friday, New York's custom bikeshop run by Nic. Nic opened the doors of his shop in november 2008. The meet and greet was the start of the first cruise of NY 2010...Cruisin & Boozin 2010, a 13 bar hop cruise on long island. Happy were those who did the friday night ride that the saturdays cruise didn't start too early.

Saturday the bikes were loaded in the back of a U Haul truck for transport downtown. Once the group arrived at Jamaica station the truck with bikes followed quickly, a big hand to organisation and those who helped out for the well planned transport. Some more joined the group, Big Ballers Bike club and others. And then the fun began...cruisin" our way to the Rumblers car show.

If you expected the show to be around the block....wrong dude, with 45 km at the end of the day on the clock some serious cruisin' was done...you better not have sat done on the saddle. On the way some block parties along the route provided sound aslong as the metro was not coming overhead. And then the group arrived at the Car show for a late afternoon beer and smoke.Smoke mostly by them cars...till the police force moved in and stopped the racing.

Amsterdam (BDC)- Discovery of Basman Palace in Jordan !!!! And new facts are added to the Basman files. CNN is looking forward to new episodes on the Basman Discovery Channel by ACE.

The Basman Palace

The word Basman originates from the Arabic verb which means to be joyful.

Construction of Basman Palace began under King Abdullah in 1950. It was designed as a guest reception palace, additional working offices for the Royal Court, and a private wing for King Abdullah. However, part of Basman became the private living quarters of His Majesty King Hussein in the early fifties before it entirely became the working offices of the Royal Court. This came to be known as al-Diwan al-Malaki, the Royal Court.
 
The building underwent some renovation and expansion over the years. During the early 1980’s, a new official banquet hall and a reception area were renovated on the western part of Basman as well as a new meeting room to the eastern section, yet preserving the same architectural beauty of the building.

Today, the building contains His Majesty King Abdullah’s offices, as well as offices for His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad and His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan. Prince El Hassan’s office was used for a short time by King Abdullah before his death in July 1951. Basman is also used by the main officials of the Royal Court.

15 August 2010 - Amsterdam (Wazzup)- The FBI once started as a FBI "club" meeting in 2002 has become a meeting of various groups and clubs over the years. In the early years the "forum groups" dominated, but  nowadays "real" clubs from all over the place meet up at the FBI.  All with their own specific colors and patches. Amsterdam (Project 346)- We knew the Basman frame would be suitable for E bike use, we saw a great example at the FBI. But now from  Hawaii, based on the Basman frame introducing Voltage Cycles. Damn those EURO pedalic restrictions :)

7 August 2010 - Amsterdam (Wazzup)- Walking around at the FBI with a 100% Porn bag she was.

Anastasia, Bicycle Trust St Peterburg has been the Westerpark before with her performance group NeverPorn at the "Kunstvlaai" earlier this year. 

A show of "robot" girls and  hospital beds, taking first prize at Kunstvlaai festival.

You can see this performance again at the Gogbot Festival, Enschede 9-12 sept 2010.

18 July 2010 - Amsterdam (FBI HQ)- The start of the FBI Nightcruise will be at the Westergasterras, Westerpark. For FBI veterans a well known place as the FBI and COTY have been held at this spot in 2004, 2007 and 2008. For newbie's follow the stream from campsite or check FBI location map.

Montfort (Mail online)- A young designer has invented a revolutionary folding bicycle that will stop thieves in their tracks.

Kevin Scott, 21, designed the space-age bike that wraps around a lamp post so it can be locked-up safely - without the need for a lock or chain.

The De Montfort University graduate used a ratchet system built into the frame of the bike to allow it to wrap around a pole, enabling the lock to be wrapped through both wheels and the frame.
