Noch mehr Dank alle denen die mir den Bau des Bike ermöglicht haben. Zum Rad ist einiges zu sagen. Das Rad ist eine komplette selbst Entwicklung und nur die Bremsen wurden nicht neu gebaut bzw. nicht überarbeitet.

Der Rahmen ist aus Sechskant-Stahl (hexagon steel tube) gefertigt. Alle Rohre, sowie Steuersatz und Gabelschafft sind aus diesem Material. Wie John schon geschrieben hat ist die Einseitaufnahme nichts neues, aber in der Kombination und Ausführung einzigartig.

Zu den Besonderheiten gebe ich mal eine Liste an:

- Vespa schwinge vorne mit Luftdämpfer
- doppelte Anzahl an Speichen vorne und hinten, 3D gekreuzte Einspeichung
- 100mm Naben vorne und hinten mit Steckachse, handgedreht
- Scheibenbremsen
- Maasgefertigte Gabelbrücken mit Gewindefahrwerk
- 2 x Riemenantrieb (Kurbel - Schaltnabe und Schaltnabe - Hinterrad)
- innenverlegte Züge und Leitungen
- verstellbare Sitzposition
- Schokobrauner Metallliclack mit Elfenbein Dekor
- umgebaute 30-Jahre Beleuchtung vorne und hinten

Mich freut es , dass mich soviel zum Fahrrad beglückwünscht haben und sage Danke für die Punkte beim COTY in diesem Sommer. Ich war überrascht, dass ich gewonnen haben. Wenn jemand Fragen zum Rad oder zur Fertigung hat, bitte immer her damit ein Making of ist im Tretharley-Forum zu finden.

COMMENTS BY John Brain	021 “Karbar” Steffen Bartels Steffen Bartels was not interested in taking the easiest route to complete his unique creation. If anything, certain aspects of the “Karber” build must have been extremely challenging. But upon completion Steffan must have felt a true sense of exhilaration. This machine truly goes beyond the ordinary. The most unique aspect of this bike is the single sided mount for both the front and the rear wheels. While this engineering achievement is not unique in the bike world, it does stand out in this instance - because of the uncompromising workmanship put into the detailing. This is not just about the owner finding a solution to a technical problem, it is very much about finding the perfect union of aesthetics and personal satisfaction - with no concession given to make the task simpler - or just “good enough”. It is always a marvel when all aspects of a visual design work together, especially when the various facets are diverse or “one of a kind”. The frame is fully custom made, and exhibits an emphasis on angularity. The frames design allows for a generous amount of unique paint effects on the flat surfaces. Brown and white are the chosen shades, and these are mixed together in patterns that effectively unify the various aspects of the bike. The forward crank connects to a multi-gear hub “jackshaft”, which is mounted inside the wishbone shaped frame section. A clear chain line runs from the left side of the jack-shaft all the way back to a special rear hub and rim combination. Both the front and rear tires are cream white “Thick Bricks” which match perfectly to the bikes overall color choice. Strength, beauty, and the owners command of the design challenges, makes this kustom cruiser one of the top contenders of 2011. This bike will not disappoint even the most discerning eye, because nothing has been left to chance. It is a rare combination of personal vision and ingenuity that gives this bike its particular magic. This machine is truly one of a kind.
