“Ghost”  Pride Kustoms  Ukraine

There is beauty in the lines of the past, and in this sense Pride Kustoms “Ghost” offers up the spirit of nostalgia - and the feel of days gone by. Coloring on the “Ghost” is subdued rather than bright and flamboyant, it’s like a glimpse into a time we know only from sepia tinted photographs.  It has a certain aura about it too, like a bike that was hidden away in a basement for 75 years, awaiting rediscovery and admiration. It is the re-creation of an idea that existed in the mind of its creator. This is the past as it should have been, and in this sense it is a dream come true - an amazing attribute - in light of the fact that this machine is brand spanking new.

Its frame is reminiscent of those found on bicycles and motorbikes produced a century ago; a time when cycles were fashioned by small firms with original ideas. Progressive builders like Ukraine’s “Pride Kustoms” are searching for the best of the old and the new - to conquer the challenges that exist on modern streets. “Ghost” offers the look of a classic - with the performance of modern technology.

2-1/4 inch Brick tires mount to large rims, which are painted the same shade of brown displayed on the frame and fork. A three speed hub was selected for rider ease, and is controlled by a modern stick shift mounted slightly forward of the seat. The front end is a modern knee action springer type, with its truss rods modified to resemble those found on early competition forks. The seat is a black hairpin type saddle, with multiple springs in the rear for maximum comfort.

The handlebars are low pullbacks with a cross bar, and are perfect company for the classic feel this bike radiates. As a final topper we find wooden handgrips on the bar ends – a small but important nod to history - it finalizes the spirit of what this bike has endeavoured to accomplish.

Time does not stand still, but lessons of the past are sometimes worth repeating. Pride Kustoms has shown that it has the skill and knowledge to make this concept work.
