Amsterdam (Wazzup)- De ruimte aan de Admiraal de Ruyterweg 346 waar The Chopperdome vele jaren heeft gezeten en bekend stond als The Dome heeft een nieuwe bestemming gekregen. Begin december 2011 heeft de Kids Pitstop zijn deuren geopend. De Kids Pitstop is een speelgoed boetiek gespecialiseerd in 1:43 racebanen en CARS, maar ook een perfecte plek voor hen die een feestje willen geven waarbij gespeeld en geraced kan worden met Carrera racebanen.

Hiermee begint ook een nieuw avontuur voor de CNN website, na 10 jaar van nieuws over chopper en cruisers bikes en alles wat daar in onze ogen mee van doen had, gaan we de website iets verbreden en ook ander nieuws brengen en bloggen. Alle artikelen zijn nog steeds te vinden in de archieven maar hierbij wordt The Dome sectie in de archieven bijgezet.

AmsterDAM (FBI HQ)- First of all, thanks to all for entering your bike in this Facebook edition of the COTY 2011 and to those who took the time to take a look at the bikes and vote. Special thanks to John Brain for the comments written about the bikes.

And now for the big moment....the winner of the Facebook COTY edition 2011 is Steffen Bartels, Germany. Winner at the COTY in Amsterdam earlier this year and now adding an extra crown to the work. Karbar is truly the 2011 bike of the year. Steffen Bartels scored 6.18% of the points.
Staying just ahead of the runner up Ted Florez from the USA (CA) with El Rey who gathered 5.96% of the points. Chuck Bradford also from the USA (CA) with My Basman scoring 5.45% of all points takes 3rd place. The Top 5 is completed with the Minx trike by Nick and his Metal and Ink crew from Spain and Cedric, France and his Dyketracker, both scoring 5.16% of the points.

Lelystad (Wazzup)- As another edition of Serious Request is starting to warm up, I was playing with this idea. Thinking about what could be a good way to collect some money, for the goal that 3fm Radio and the Red Cross have set this year. This is what I came up with.

Outsiders, people who are not familiar with custom bicycles, useally respond very positive when seeing a custom build or cruiser. And if you let them, they will ask you if they can sit on it, perhaps take it for a short drive...Well now is their chance!

On the last day of the Serious Request week, you can pick a custom you like, sit on it and have your picture taken for a little donation (and a nice memorie of that day).

Keytown Cruisers are supporting this event, because Leiden is their hometown and they also believe this a great way to collect some money! Since Saturday is the last day, the event will end with the announcement of the total that is donated all week. After that there will be a great show with various artists performing, so it will be a good time!

We hope to see a lot of cruisers out there!!!

New York (Wazzup)- Wild Style is a 1983 hip hop film produced by Charlie Ahearn. Released theatrically in 1983 by First Run Features and later re-released for home video by Rhino Home Video, it is regarded as the first hip hop motion picture.

The film featured seminal figures within the given period, such as Fab Five Freddy, Lee Quinones, Pink, the Rock Steady Crew, The Cold Crush Brothers, Sandra Fabara and Grandmaster Flash. The protagonist "Zoro" is played by the legendary New York graffiti artist "Lee" George Quinones.

An early version of the 'Wild Style' logo appeared in 1981 when Charlie Ahearn hired graffiti legend Dondi to paint the 'window down' subway car piece that appears in the film. The Dondi piece was the inspiration for the animated title sequence designed by the artist Zephyr in 1982. The 'Wild Style' logo was designed by Zephyr and painted as a 'burner' mural by Zephyr, Revolt, and Sharp in 1983.

Amsterdam (FBI HQ)- Were the days before the start filled with rain as soon as the Born to cruise started on tuesday the rain was gone. Tuesday was still clouded, but a sunburn was possible for those not into sunblock as some experienced. The route took the 80+ on this first day from Amsterdam to Bodegraven, with at the second stop some delicious smoked eel at the smokehouse of Dirk en Anneke Eveleens and an American Bitter at Brewery "De Molen" at the last stop. The hotel was so kind to have a room to lock the bikes inside ... cruisin" in the hotel lobby. Pictures day 1

Day 2, Bodegraven-Amersfoort started with a breakfast at the hotel for those staying on the nearby campsite. The route followed the "Oude Rijn" to Woerden where we came accross one of the best Basman e bikes ever seen. From there on to Utrecht for a stop downtown leaving the rivers, dikes and polders from the first day and morning of the second day behind us. Through the forrest and over the sand dunes we found our way to Amersfoort for another beer at the Born to cruise taste of beer experience. When the brewery "De 3 Ringen" closed his doors the night was still young ..... something that couldn't be said about some the next morning after a booze filled evening and night in picturesque downtown Amersfoort.

Amsterdam (FBI HQ)- And the first prize for the COTY 2011 goes to.....GERMANY. Steffan Bartels and his Karbar collected 12,3 % of all points. The second place went to Minx works from Spain (8,6 %) with just a few points more as Ville's O'Ranger bike from Finland. (8,1%).
